Home

The sweet scent permeates throughout the big blue house. There isn’t any better scent to be waking up to in the morning because when your nose catches whiff of it, it will not stop sniffing until it is satisfied. The smell I talk of is rice being cooked with mixed beans along with an egg being cooked in the middle of the pan. This specific smell is typical Costa Rican dish that I love waking up to because it tastes like a piece of heaven to me. When you see hot rice perfectly cooked, diced tomatoes, peppers and pieces of egg in a plate, your mouth drools in excitement. You scurry across the house in the pajamas you wore the previous night no matter how ridiculous they look in order to taste just to a meal prepared from scratch made from love. My mom, Estella Bartek, is a 100% Costa Rican that knows her country inside and out geographically and is orientated with many cuisines from her beautiful homeland. With the knowledge that she possesses, she cooks the most scrumptious meals that beg you for more. Have you ever had that feeling

One of the main reasons why I go home every weekend is because of my queen size bed. This large bed cannot be compared to the ones we sleep on campus because the one on campus is half the size and not as soft as it could be. The bed becomes a cold corpse waiting for my arrival in order to bring it back to life with the body heat I possess. When you hop onto my bed on my caliber, it is very similar to quick sand, you simply cannot get out of it even with all your might. I have lived in the same house for 18 years and I plan to live in my house for the duration of my life. The main reason I would live in my house for the rest of my life is because it has no mortgage that need to be paid. Only bills that’s I would have to pay would be the electric, gases, and etc. The memories that are created at home are mine to keep forever and that is why home is my favorite place to be. I want my kids to have the same memories and love that my parents bestowed upon myself. Home is one of the key foundations of who you truly are.
